Clinton Fires/Sacks/Replaces Campaign Manager

Everyone is in an uproar about Hillary Clinton *insert verb* her campaign manager. Yes, it’s a high profile time to do such a thing. It’s a risk. A risk that shows good leadership.

How many times have we sat in our offices and wished that a supervisor would get rid of an under performing employee? It never seems to happen. It takes a good leader to take that risk and do what’s right for the good of all. These types of leaders are rare.

Whether you believe in her politics or not, Hillary’s action illustrated the strength that a good leader needs. If only business leaders could emulate this kind of decision making.

  1. Ask a Manager Says:

Agreed in theory, but it also looks like she waited too long. This is the campaign manager who twice hid money problems from Clinton, after all. And having a staff afraid to bring you bad news isn’t the sign of a good manager.

  2. Rachel Robbins Says:

I’m not sure that hiding something from your supervisor means you’re a bad supervisor. I think it may just mean that something is wrong with you.
